OUR PROCESS

HOW WE PRICE

Resale Value

High-demand items retain more of their value. Top selling or "trending" items at your local store are likely also top sellers on a secondary market. See below for a current list of our top brands and products.

Market Trends

We price items based on resale and retail market trends, historical demand, and similar items sold. Our team is highly trained in making sure that you get the best price for your item.

Item Condition Classification

The better the condition, the higher the resale value.

We categorize items into 4 classes: New With Tags, Excellent, Great, and Good

WHAT YOU'LL EARN

Please Keep in Mind...

These are rough estimates. Seasonality and style will affect pricing and your end payout.

Low priced items under $20 are ineligible for consignment as their processing costs are greater than their payouts.

You are still welcome to send them in for TriedEq to donate, upcycle, recycle or resell as we see fit.

FROM HORSEBACK TO CASHBACK!

No need to wait to get paid for your items to sell!
The Tried Equestrian now offers quick cash or store credit for select tack and apparel in excellent condition.

BUYOUT PROCESS

For items that meet The Tried Equestrian's Buyout guidelines, a Buyout Proposal is emailed, outlining each piece we want to purchase and a buyout total in cash or Store Credit. Any items we cannot purchase would fall into our traditional consignment program. If the proposal is accepted, we will send the payment within one week.

BUYOUT PAYMENT STRUCTURE

Choose between Store Credit, PayPal or mailed check.

  • Check or PayPal payout - consignor receives 25% of TTE price
  • Store credit payout - consignor receives 40% of TTE price

We ask for a minimum of 5 acceptable items, as we charge a $20 Processing Fee that covers the shipping of your items to us. With only one or 2 items, the fee can become cumbersome on a payout and is not absorbed well.

Not Accepted Items:

TTE reserves the right to reject any item for any reason for resale. Items must be in very good to new with tags condition (condition to be determined by TE only). Consignors whose items are deemed unacceptable for resale and who agree to pay for return freight charges, have the option of having such items returned to Consignor. Consignors, who choose not to pre-pay return freight charges forfeit all right, title and interest in such items, which shall be disposed of at the sole discretion of TE including but not limited to recycling, donation, resale, etc.

If we do not initially accept your items we will also refer to your agreement to see if you would like them donated or returned at your cost. If you have chosen to have them returned we will we send you an invoice for the return shipping.

Any time we are returning shipments we will charge the lowest market price for the actual shipping costs and any supplies used to ship.

Discounts:

All items are consigned for a minimum period of six months (180 days). During this period, TE reserves the right to discount unsold items in order to facilitate a sale at the following rate: 1) Immediately up to 20% for incentive discounts 2) at 3 months the item can be further discounted at 30% of original asking price 3) at 4 months the item can be further discounted at 40% of original asking price 4) at 5 months the item can be further discounted at 50% of original asking price and 5) at 6 months the item can be discounted to any price TE deems will sell the item.

The secondary market for item sales can be drastically different than the retail price. By the time secondary items hit the market, they may be heavily on sale at a retail price. This will lower the selling price in a secondary market related to its retail price.
