At Tried Equestrian, our goal is simple: help your items sell, not sit. We review thousands of pieces every month and make acceptance decisions based on real sell-through data, customer demand, and resale performance — not personal preference.

How to Use this Guide
Review this first to see whether your items are a good fit for consignment right now. This helps ensure faster sell-through and avoids unnecessary shipping or processing fees.

Looking Sharp No major flaws, stains, or signs of heavy wear
On Trend From recent seasons (within 3 years for apparel)
Truly Yours Free of monograms or personalization that can't be removed
What We Skip Horse blankets (except Back on Track), men's apparel & crops
Safety First Air vests and helmets must be brand new with tags attached

Select apparel only. Please double check styles are within 3 years. Not accepted styles include Heritage and Pro Series apparel.

Breeches with deerskin-paneled styles are excluded.

3. Grand Prix

Backpacks and Saltare-style show jackets only.

4. Helite

Air vests must be new with original tags attached.

5. Hermès

Equestrian items only. Fashion and non-equestrian accessories are not accepted.

6. Kask

Helmets must be new with original tags attached.

7. Kensington

Horse blankets are excluded. Accessories are all accepted.

8. Kentucky

Horse blankets and large stable fixtures are excluded. Accessories are all accepted.

9. Kerrits

Technical riding apparel only. Performance styles accepted; casual or lifestyle pieces are not.

10. Kingsland

Show and performance apparel only. Sweatshirt-style jackets, tights, and children's items are not accepted.

11. Lululemon

Zip-front outerwear and seamless Swiftly long- and short-sleeve tops only.

12. Ovation

Tack items only. Apparel is not currently accepted.

13. Pikeur

Select apparel only. Please double check styles are within 3 years. Not accepted styles include cotton based breeches.

14. Professional's Choice

Must be specifically English. No medicine boots.

15. Shires

Tack items only. Apparel is not currently accepted.

16. Tredstep

Select apparel only. Styles must be current; please double check styles are within 3 years.

Please Keep in Mind...

Our pricing guidelines are rough estimates. Seasonality and style will affect pricing and your end payout.

Low priced items under $20 are ineligible for consignment as their processing costs are greater than their payouts.

You are still welcome to send them in for TriedEq to donate, upcycle, recycle or resell as we see fit.

How You'll Get Paid

At the beginning of the month, a check will be sent out with an invoice breakdown. We delay sending payments by one month to accommodate any returns. You are able to check the real-time status of your items in our Consignor Portal.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know about consigning with us

How many items should I consign at a time?
We recommend starting with 10-20 items to get familiar with the process. You can always send more once you're comfortable with how everything works.
What is your consignment agreement?
Our consignment agreement outlines the terms of our partnership, including payout rates, item handling, and return policies. You can view the full agreement in your Consignor Portal.
What happens to not accepted items or items that aren't selling?
Items that don't sell or aren't accepted can be returned to you (shipping fee applies), donated to equestrian charities, upcycled, or recycled. You can specify your preference in your portal.
What brands do you accept?
We accept a wide range of premium equestrian brands. Check our Consignment Acceptance Guide above for the full list of always-accepted and conditionally-accepted brands.
How does payment work and what are the commissions and fees?
Payouts are sent at the beginning of each month for the previous month's sales, delayed by one month for returns. Commission rates range from 20-85% based on selling price, with store credit earning an additional 10% bonus.
