At Tried Equestrian, our goal is simple: help your items sell, not sit. We review thousands of pieces every month and make acceptance decisions based on real sell-through data, customer demand, and resale performance, not personal preference.

How to Use this Guide
Review this first to see whether your items are a good fit for consignment right now. This helps ensure faster sell-through and avoids unnecessary shipping or processing fees.

Fresh & Ready Clean, laundered, and smelling show-ring worthy
Looking Sharp Good condition or better: no major flaws, stains, or signs of heavy wear
On Trend From recent seasons (within 3 years for apparel)
Truly Yours Free of monograms or personalization that can't be removed
What We Skip Horse blankets (except Back on Track), men's apparel & crops
Safety First Air vests and helmets must be brand new with tags attached

1. Ariat

Select apparel only. Please double check styles are within 3 years. Not accepted styles include Heritage and Pro Series apparel.

2. Fits

Breeches with deerskin-paneled styles are excluded.

3. Grand Prix

Backpacks and Saltare-style show jackets only.

4. Helite

Air vests must be new with original tags attached.

5. Hermès

Equestrian items only. Fashion and non-equestrian accessories are not accepted.

6. Kask

Helmets must be new with original tags attached.

7. Kensington

Horse blankets are excluded. Accessories are all accepted.

8. Kentucky

Horse blankets and large stable fixtures are excluded. Accessories are all accepted.

9. Kerrits

Technical riding apparel only. Performance styles accepted; casual or lifestyle pieces are not.

10. Kingsland

Show and performance apparel only. Sweatshirt-style jackets, tights, and children's items are not accepted.

11. Lululemon

Zip-front outerwear and seamless Swiftly long- and short-sleeve tops only.

12. Ovation

Tack items only. Apparel is not currently accepted.

13. Pikeur

Select apparel only. Please double check styles are within 3 years. Not accepted styles include cotton based breeches.

14. Professional's Choice

Must be specifically English. No medicine boots.

15. Shires

Tack items only. Apparel is not currently accepted.

16. Tredstep

Select apparel only. Styles must be current; please double check styles are within 3 years.

Please Keep in Mind...

Our pricing guidelines are rough estimates. Seasonality and style will affect pricing and your end payout.

Items that retail under $75 usually land in our lowest pricing tier, and we may choose not to list items we'd price under $20.

Items we don't list are donated or returned at your cost, based on the choice you make in your consignment form.

How You'll Get Paid

You're paid in the second month after the month your item sells (for example, April sales are paid in June), which gives time for any returns. Choose a mailed check, PayPal, store credit (10% more, or 5% more on items priced $1,000+), or a donation to charity. Track your items in real time in our Consignor Portal.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know about consigning with us

How much should I send?
We ask for a minimum of $500 in total original retail value per shipment. To keep fees low, pack your items in the fewest and smallest boxes possible.
What is your consignment agreement?
Our consignment agreement covers payout rates, fees, item handling, and what happens to unsold items. You'll review and sign it online as part of our consignment form, and we'll email you a signed copy for your records. You can also read it anytime at triedequestrian.com/pages/te-consignment-agreement.
How does shipping work?
After you submit the form, our team reviews your request. Once approved, we email you a prepaid shipping label for each package. Sending more than one box? They all ship FedEx so you only need one drop-off. A $20 processing fee per prepaid label for tack and apparel, or $50 per saddle, is deducted from your sales. Sending more than 5 packages? Email consign@triedequestrian.com and we'll help.
Can I consign a saddle?
Yes! Use the same consignment form and mention your saddle in the item types. Our team will review it and email you a prepaid label sized for a saddle box. Saddles have a $50 processing fee, deducted from the sale. Questions? Email consign@triedequestrian.com.
What happens to items you don't accept or that aren't selling?
Items we don't accept are donated or returned to you at your cost, based on the choice you make in your consignment form. If return shipping isn't paid within 14 days, the item is donated or recycled. Items still unsold after 6 months may be removed from inventory, and we'll contact you to return (shipping fee applies) or donate them.
What brands do you accept?
We accept a wide range of premium equestrian brands. Check our Consignment Acceptance Guide above for the full list of always-accepted and conditionally-accepted brands.
How does payment work and what are the commissions and fees?
You're paid in the second month after the month your item sells (April sales are paid in June). You earn 20% to 80% of the selling price, and the higher the price, the higher your share. Choose store credit to earn 10% more (5% more on items priced $1,000+). A $20 processing fee per prepaid label ($50 per saddle) and any cleaning or repair costs are deducted from your sales.
